What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol. The most abundant of 100+ phytocannabinoids in the hemp plant.

Phytocannabinoids are plant compounds that interact with your body’s endocannabinoid system to promote wellness and balance.

CBD is non-intoxicating, so it doesn’t cause a “high.”

What is hemp?

Hemp is a plant in the cannabis family. It’s related to marijuana, though the two plants have different effects and uses.

Hemp has been used for thousands of years — for food and industrial purposes.

Today, hemp seeds and hemp oil (made from hemp seeds) are popular food products. Hemp has also been used for rope, clothing, construction materials, and many other uses.

Hemp buds, or flowers, are where the health-enhancing phytocannabinoids, like CBD, are found. Hemp CBD oil, like Ultimate Serum products, is extracted from hemp buds.

Hemp only has 0.3% THC or less — not enough to cause a “high.”

What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Hemp and marijuana are both types of cannabis, but they have different chemical makeups, effects, and uses.

Marijuana has higher concentrations of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) — the compound responsible for the euphoric “high” marijuana is associated with.

Hemp has been bred to be high in CBD but very low in THC.

Hemp has been used medically for millennia. It offers a wide range of potential health benefits, such as helping regulate moods, soothing aches, and supporting better brain health.

What’s the difference between hemp seed oil and hemp CBD oil?

Hemp seed oil is made from the seeds of the hemp plant. It doesn’t contain CBD or the other 100+ phytocannabinoids.

Hemp CBD oil comes from the buds (flowers) of the hemp plant. It contains CBD plus 100+ other phytocannabinoids.

What are the benefits of CBD?

CBD promotes balance and wellness — by interacting with your body’s endocannabinoid system.

The endocannabinoid system is made up of receptors that are located in the brain and nervous systems throughout the body.

It’s directly involved in processes that keep you balanced, such as mood, memory, immune system functions, and inflammation.

CBD may help with:

  • Emotional wellness — ease stress, calm feelings of anxiety, uplift your mood, and soothe and calm you,
  • Calming the heat in your body — potentially helping with stiffness, aches, and discomfort,
  • Tooth troubles — reduce tooth sensitivities, gum soreness, and bleeding gums, and
  • Bringing overall balance to your body and mind (many healthy people take CBD).

Due to federal regulations, we cannot make claims about which specific health conditions CBD may affect. You can research online and use Pubmed.gov to seek out scientific research.

Preclinical trials have suggested that CBD could be beneficial for anxiety, stress, inflammation, and other health challenges.

Ultimate Serum products give you the benefits of CBD — plus the potent power of healing superfoods.

Will you get high from CBD?

Unlike THC, CBD isn’t intoxicating, so it won’t get you high.

It may promote feelings of calm and relaxation — and can be uplifting for some people.

Since you don’t have to worry about getting high, you can use CBD anytime, anywhere you want, without feeling intoxicated.

Your body won’t become dependent on CBD, and you won’t have withdrawals if you stop taking it.

What is the best way to take CBD?

Taking hemp CBD oil is the most bioavailable way to take CBD. This way, your body has the best chance of getting benefits.

For best results, place the oil under your tongue, hold for 30-60 seconds, and then swallow.

Research has shown that the phytocannabinoids are most effectively absorbed using this method.

How much CBD should you take?

CBD affects everyone differently. It’s best to start off with a small dosage and see how it affects you. Then, you can slowly work your way up to larger doses if you need to.

Dosage recommendations:

Serving size:

  • 1mL for the original strength — each serving contains approx. 16.6 mg
  • 1/4 mL for the 5X strength — each serving contains approx. 20.8 mg

Start at a low dose 1-3 times daily and increase every 2-3 days as needed.

Low Dose:

15-25 mg

Emotional wellness, stress, mild discomfort, daily health

Medium Dose:

25-50 mg

Aches, cramps, digestive health, sleep difficulty, aging, tension

High Dose:

55+mg

Severe discomfort, stiffness, and other chronic issues

You do not develop a “tolerance” and need higher doses — in fact, many people report the opposite, that a smaller dose after the first few weeks gets the same effect.

You may need more or less depending on your weight.

These are general guidelines. You may find that something different works for you.

Can you take too much CBD?

The average CBD user doesn’t need to worry about taking too much CBD.

CBD is one of the few substances deemed by the World Health Organization to have no major side effects or risk of dependency.

A scientific review on the safety of CBD found that continuous use of CBD, even in high doses like 1,500 mg a day, is well tolerated by humans.

You do not develop a “tolerance” and need higher doses — in fact, many people report the opposite, that a smaller dose after the first few weeks gets the same effect.

How often should you take CBD?

When you take CBD is up to you. Many people take it for specific concerns, such as aches or relieving feelings of stress and unease.

To get the most benefits and truly support your body and mind in achieving balance, we suggest taking a high-quality, pure CBD oil, like Ultimate Serum: CBD, as a daily tonic for better health and well-being.

Why choose a full-spectrum CBD oil?

Full-spectrum means you gain all the benefits from the hemp plant that nature intended

Full-spectrum hemp CBD oils are extracted from the plant, without further processing. These oils benefit from the entourage effect, where all the components of the plant work together for the best results.

A 2015 study showed that test subjects treated with full-spectrum CBD reported higher levels of relief compared to those who used CBD isolate.

What are the different types of CBD?

The 3 types of CBD are:

  • Full-spectrum — nothing from the plant is removed. All the compounds — 85+ cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other plant nutrients — remain. Full-spectrum CBD products contain a maximum of 0.3% non-psychoactive THC.
  • Broad-spectrum — a full-spectrum formula with the THC removed.
  • CBD isolates — only contain CBD isolated from the rest of the plant. Doesn’t offer the benefits of the entourage effect.

All Ultimate Serum CBD products are full-spectrum — giving you the most benefits possible.

Why is it important to choose an organic CBD oil?

The term “organic” means something that’s grown or produced in a clean way — without the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, or ionizing radiation, according to the USDA.

Organic CBD oil is extracted from organically grown hemp, and then, processed without synthetic chemical additives.

Very few companies offer organic CBD. Ultimate Serum's organic CBD oil is 100% pure, every time.

Will you fail a drug test if you take CBD?

Full-spectrum hemp contains a trace amount of non-psychoactive THC (less than 0.3%).

If you’re subject to drug screenings, taking Ultimate Serum products may lead to testing positive for THC, though it isn’t likely.

Can you get addicted to CBD?

No. CBD isn’t addictive at the molecular level, and it doesn’t have intoxicating effects.

The World Health Organization reports, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects of any abuse or dependence potential.

Is CBD legal?

CBD made from hemp (not marijuana) is legal nationwide on the federal level, as long as the hemp contains less than 0.3% THC.

However, states are allowed to make their own regulations and definitions for hemp-derived products. Three states (Idaho, Nebraska, and South Dakota) have more restrictive rules, often because they define “hemp” the same way as “marijuana.”

That’s why we’re unable to ship to South Dakota, Nebraska, and Idaho at this time.

We’re also don’t currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada.

How long does it take for CBD to take effect?

CBD reacts differently depending on the amount used, frequency, and length of use. Your body’s weigh, metabolism, and health also play a role in how you react to CBD oil.

Taking CBD sublingually, under the tongue, is a fast way to find relief. So you may experience results pretty quickly.

What does taking CBD feel like?

Some hemp CBD users report feelings of calm, relaxation, and an improved mood. CBD can have different effects in different people. Results may vary.

Will you experience side effects from taking CBD?

CBD is safe, and most people take CBD without any problems.

Some potential side effects:

  • Increased/decreased appetite
  • Dry mouth
  • Fatigue — usually from higher doses
  • Nausea — very rare
  • Mood change — improvement in your mood and increased positivity

If you’re on medications, you should consult your doctor before taking CBD.
